Frequently asked questions
Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to call or text us at [[phonenumber]] and we’ll be happy to help.
Do you work on-site?
Yes. Neptune Marine Services is a mobile marine service, and most diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs are performed on-site at your boat. This includes service at marinas, docks, boat lifts, storage yards, and residential locations when accessible.
Some repairs may require off-site work depending on the issue, access, or equipment required. If that applies, we will discuss it with you beforehand.
What engines do you service?
We service a wide range of inboard and outboard engines, depending on access, condition, and parts availability. This includes many common marine engine platforms used in recreational boats.
If you have questions about a specific engine or model, feel free to contact us and provide the make, model, and year so we can confirm service availability.
How does diagnostics work?
Diagnostics are performed through inspection, testing, and system evaluation to identify the root cause of an issue. This may include checking fuel, ignition, electrical, cooling, charging, and engine systems depending on the symptoms.
Once diagnostics are completed, we review the findings with you and discuss next steps. No repairs are performed without your approval.
Do you give estimates?
Because marine issues can vary widely, we typically begin with diagnostics to properly identify the issue. Once diagnostics are complete, we review the findings with you and explain the recommended repair options before any additional work is performed.
This approach helps avoid unnecessary parts replacement and ensures repairs are based on accurate information.
Do you work on older boats?
Yes. We service older and newer boats. Older vessels may require additional inspection due to age, wear, or prior repairs. We will review findings with you and discuss available options based on the condition of the boat and components.
What do I need to provide for access?
To ensure smooth service, please make sure:
- The boat is accessible at the scheduled time
- Keys, battery switches, and engine compartments are available
- The vessel is safely secured
- Marina or facility permissions are arranged if required
Providing clear access helps avoid delays and rescheduling.
